It took three days to find them, but we eventually found the herd of Borneo elephants or Pygmy elephants on the banks of the Kinabatangan River in Malaysia. As she waves ‘hi’, these small remainders of elephants are quickly being eradicated with deforestation and the expansion of palm plantations. Only 1,500 remain on the planet.
